Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan gave an update on India’s battle against Covid-19 in the Lok Sabha. He lauded the steps taken by the central government and said that those steps had saved about 78 thousands lives and prevented about 29 cases in the country. Harsh Vardhan also lauded the role played by the Prime Minister, who he said had personally monitored the government’s handling of the crisis.
केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के 'जनता कर्फ्यू' के आह्वान और कड़ाई से लॉकडाउन लागू करने के फैसले को सही ठहराते हुए कहा कि इन कठोर कदमों की वजह से शुरुआती दौर में संक्रमण के फैलने की गति को रोकने में अहम सफलता मिली। इस कारण 14 से 29 लाख तक लोगों को संक्रमण से बचाने में सफलता मिली। उन्होंने बताया कि पूरी दुनिया में पिछले शुक्रवार तक 2.79 करोड़ संक्रमित हो चुके हैं जिनमें से 9.05 लाख लोगों की मौत चुकी है। इस तरह दुनिया का औसत मृत्युदर 3.2 फीसद है। वहीं भारत में शुक्रवार तक 45,62,414 केस और इससे 76,271 मौतों के साथ मृत्युदर 1.67 फीसद ही है।
